Inquiry learning is one of the most informative topics i've learned in this course. It challenges me as a teacher to provide different strategies for my students to learn that are engaging. Inquiry learning provides a classroom with opportunities for growth, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, as well as logical thinking skills. It expands the learning process by allowing students to "fail" to "win". I was in a PD two days ago and the facilitator said a phrase "fail faster to succeed sooner" while telling us why we should allow students to complete labs first in science.I though to myself- wow- Inquiry based learning at it's finest. Inquiry based learning allows questioning and eagerness to learn about a topic- you'll find that students love to figure out what they do not know, and they can in a lot of cases, figure it out by themselves. Like scientist, they make an hypothesis first which raises curiosity then they experiment then eventually conclude. They answered their own questions by experimentation. This is inquiry based learning, digging deeper to answer your own questions because you well - 'want to'. it's almost like challenging yourself and succeeding.
